The annual traditional tennis tournament between Kámen a písek and Kirchdorfer Industries took place this year on the tennis courts in Kirchdorf, Austria. 10 players started for each team and 6 rounds were played, where in each round new pairs were drawn against each other. So a total of 30 four-game matches were played in a friendly spirit, but with full sportsmanship, where each match decided the overall result. The vast majority of matches had an excellent level of tennis and only a few balls always decided the victory. The Kámen a písek team had a small lead from the start, but it was only the last round that was decisive, when the Kirchdorfer team had a good chance to reverse the overall score. But the experience and determination of our team showed and we defended the overall victory 16:14. So this year the traveling cup will remain with us, in Český Krumlov. We were blessed with beautiful weather all afternoon and, as always, we deservedly enjoyed the traditionally excellent roast pork with dumpling and cabbage and Kardinalschnitten dessert in the evening.
Our line-up, led by non-playing captain Otakar Veselý, this year was: Ivana Šestáková, Jana Malíková, Václav Mikoláš, Manfred Přibil, Pavel Fučík, Otakar Veselý jun., Jiří Kutlák, Pavel Macko, Viktor Krupica, René Vrba, Petr Zemek.
Next year, the tournament will take place again in the month of August, this time on the tennis courts of the Tennis Center in Český Krumlov. We wish everyone to train honestly throughout the year, stay healthy and be able to successfully represent both companies next year as well. It is a beautiful tradition because it takes place in a friendly spirit and brings together employees and other participants of the tournament. We are all looking forward to Český Krumlov next year.
